In the Studio with Lulu Frost {+ a Giveaway}

As mentioned, the highlight of last week was my morning spent with Lisa Salzer, Lulu Frost jewelry designer and founder. We chatted jewels (naturally), personal style (she doesn’t take it too seriously) and her Code Collection in particular.

A unique blend of both vintage and modern, Lulu Frost speaks true to Lisa’s personal aesthetic and is all about reinventing timeless classics. As I get older I’ve become much more of an investment shopper and I’m drawn to statement (often playful and quirky!) / sentimental pieces when it comes to jewelry. I was instantly drawn to Code not only because I loved the story behind the collection but because I also love this idea of wearing your lucky or “mystical” numbers as Lisa calls them, everyday.

The StoryWhen the Plaza Hotel, a New York landmark, closed for renovations Lisa bought the original numbers from the Plaza doors. These original numbers were cast in bronze and thus originated the Plaza Collection. The Lulu Frost fine jewelry collection, Code, is a reinterpretation of the Plaza collection. Consisting of necklaces, rings and earrings, Code is available in sterling silver and solid gold.

“I find everyone’s stories (about their lucky numbers) to be incredibly inspirational.” ~ Lisa

Lisa wears her lucky numbers everyday ~ 3.8.2.

Trying on my lucky numbers for size ~ a 9 (although upside down here!) for September and 27 (my birthday).

27 continues to be my lucky number along with 31 which is completely random but was my jersey number from my field hockey days in high school. Also, I’d like to note that this year happens to be my lucky 27th year (I turned 27 on the 27th)… and it’s been an especially exciting one (so far) for me!
Giveaway: The Lulu Frost team and I would love to hear your story and what lucky numbers are meaningful to you (and why)! Head over to the Lulu Frost Facebook page, “like” and tag Lulu Frost ~ sharing the story behind your lucky / favorite number on their Facebook wall. One random winner will be picked to receive a sterling silver code necklace with a number of his/her choice. The winner will be contacted and chosen the morning of 4/11.
