I (Dinosaur) Heart You and Me

If the state of our apartment directly correlates to my week then I would say it's been a great one because the place is a complete and dirty mess. It's embarrassing actually (thank goodness our families live so far away because I think they may judge us, or at least judge me). The only small space worthy of a 'mini moment' photo is the mantle above our fireplace, so here you have it!

I've been working outside of the apartment this week and it's been delightful to have that change of scenery. It's always funny to me, and so true that you often want what you don't have. When I was working a 9 to 5 job I thought working from home with a face mask on in my pj's (totally happened yesterday morning) sounded like the best but now that I am actually living a freelance lifestyle I crave dressing up in cute business wear. So it was nice to switch up the routine and made me realize why don't I do this more often? Truth: because then you find yourself splurging on wine with lunch which is a slippery slope to zero productivity... yet always a treat.

How gorgeous are those flowers?! They really brighten up the mantle! So pretty. And YES, I know exactly what you mean... I worked from home for a year when we temporarily had to move for Shawn's job, and at first it was amazing... and then I found myself in yoga pants most days, waiting like a puppy at the door for Shawn to get home so I could speak out loud/have a conversation! It has it's perks, for sure, but it's nice to mix it up!

I hear ya lady! If only my Mother in law could see our place now! Good thing the landlord is coming for his yearly apartment check next week, just the motivation we need to tidy up! Love the beautiful flowers!

What a lovely, lovely mantlepiece! I completely understand your 'the grass is always greener' stance. I'm in the same boat.

I completely understand! I work at home with my husband & some days I love every minute of it & others I am dying to get out, dress up & see other human beings because my dogs don't cut it. Absolutely beautiful flowers though! What a way to brighten up a room when its freezing out. Its like a little bit of spring is there to tease you.

Thank you for an absolutely beautiful blog, I really admire you & your work. Your are inspiration to me.

xoxo

I agree! I used to work a 9-5 and sometimes was SO drained by the end of the week. Now I work from home, and sometimes crave an occasion to get all dressed up! Its always good to switch up the scenery :)

I agree with you. Sometimes, we wish for what we don't have at the moment. Good that you can enjoy both worlds. Have a good weekend!

when i worked from home, i found that i was more motivated if i got dressed or took a shower before working instead of just trying to work in my PJ's. coffee shops always do the trick because it forces you to get ready and out of the house. working from home is harder than people may think!
