Futuristic Femme

I'm always pleasantly surprised when a style I originally think won't work on my body type actually does. Case in point: this 'futuristic femme' Cynthia Rowley dress. I'm in love with the cut and botanical print, and with a tall pair of nude pumps it mysteriously elongates my 5'1'' frame. (Very much appreciated!)

And just for the record, I was in fact freezing while snapping these photos however I wanted to properly show off this dress sans my jacket. (Oh the crazy things us bloggers do right?)

I would have never guessed you're 5'1! For some reason I always assume bloggers are taller than they actually are. I guess that's a compliment to the way you dress!

And speaking of dress - this is FAB. Love it. xx

@Samantha ~ yes! the nude heels were the trick (I tried on a few pairs from my closet that didn't look as elongating). xx

The dress is fabulous - its so true how some items unexpectedly work! Also huge thanks for saying you were cold and would not venture out normally without a jacket. As a fellow New Yorker its so frustrating to look at fashion blogs and to see a blogger saying she is 'running errands' in a shorts suit or some other get up (that although stylish) is more weather appropriate for Atlanta than NYC this time of year.

Hi Alison,
Looking lovely as always. Had a question about your celine business card holder. Its so gorgeous. I have been looking all over for it and was wondering where you got it from and how much it was.

Thanks! Love your blog and style.

Anne said...

It looks fantastic, love the print too. Nice to know how it works, as I'm short too.

sasha said...

Winning!! This dress does not make you look like you are 5'1! You look much taller! That is always my goal when dressing. Attempting to look a bit taller than what I really am. ;)

p.s
I know i've said this numerous of times, but i'm so so in love with your hair color. you pull it off so beautifully! just like TTH.

@Jane ~ Thank you! I bought the Celine business card holder at Saks while I was in Palm Beach. It was 60% off so I'm guessing that is why it's so hard to find. ;(

Love the pattern! The drop waist would have me worried, but the length it takes from the legs, the shoes put back - so it all evens out in the end - Good call!
