The neighborhood decor makes me oh so happy. (I wish I could say that festive fire escape was ours).
This was my last weekend in New York before heading back to California to spend Christmas with my family so I wanted to be sure to fit in as many NYC-holiday-related activities as possible. One particular highlight was ice skating at the Standard Hotel* with my girlfriends on Saturday afternoon. (After a glass of champagne and spiked hot chocolate I felt like the next Michelle Kwan out there on the ice!). Another high was baking and decorating sugar cookies while watching Homeland with my guy. We OD'd on frosting but it was worth it.
Rag & Bone Sweater and Helmut Lang Vest (both, recent sample sale purchases).
I've started reading Grace Coddington's Memoir and am really enjoying it... what a character. I also went to her book signing last week although she was sadly not as talkative as I would have hoped (I totally get it, she's not a fan of the spotlight). Regardless, I was just as ecstatic to see that famous fiery red hair up close.
A new (Foley and Corinna) cutie.
Sunday stroll through the neighborhood (wearing: Elizabeth and James Parka).
* This is actually the perfect mini rink to go ice skating as it's not too crowded or touristy.

I live in LA but seem to have the same thoughts as you in terms of holiday traditions - baked cookies with my son this weekend, mentioned to my husband that The W hotel in Westwood has an ice rink during the holidays and last night we drove around Hancock Park to show my son all the Xmas lights. We listened to a Holiday station on XM and the whole weekend really made it feel so much more like the holidays.

Very much enjoy your blog. I'm headed to NY this Wed through Monday. Which location of Otte NY do you recommend? Also was able to contact Dressed to get the fabulous Givenchy sharks tooth necklace that you have worn... Like I need more shopping influence ;-). Dawn

@dawnrod ~ oh yay so glad to hear you were able to get that Givenchy necklace! And I always shop at the West Village location because it's closest to me but their largest store is the Madison Ave location. Have so much fun!
@Cait - My beanie is unfortunately older... it's from a boutique in my hometown (A Bit Unruly). The brand is called MadeBy... I haven't been able to track it down online but I'll keep an eye out.
@Anonymous - no way?! Love it!!
@Kastles - oh my goodness you will quickly become addicted. It's the best show on TV right now. ;)
I just laughed so hard about your comments on feeling like the next Michelle Kwan! Too funny girl, and love the camo parka! Great look!
Sugar cookies and tv sound like a pretty cozy way to spend an evening.
Stay in the Lines
I really like how you take a casual look and make it look so pulled together and chic. Gorgeous!
Love that the R&B jacket's fur hood matches your gorgeous red hair!
Have a wonderful holiday with family-here in Chico is it? I'm a blogger/school psychologist living in Chico but we will be in Paris for Christmas this year. I loved seeing that your inspiration to start your blog came from the Champagne Bakery in Mill Valley-one of my favorite spots! Cheers, Heather
