My guy and I caught up on Downton Abbey this past spring and were instantly hooked. It's nice to have a show that we both enjoy and look forward to (I'm pretty sure we finished both the first and second season in a little over a week). My recent adventures across the pond gave me the urge to re-watch this drama-filled period piece (since the third season unfortunately won't be out until next spring ~ although apparently a few episodes have been leaked) and this time around I plan to do so while sipping thematic cocktails. First up: Lady Sybil's Pride.
So, who's your favorite character (aka what drink should I attempt next)?

Shake and serve up in coup (or in my case, a tea cup) with lemon express.

You would serve a cocktail in a tea cup
I'm lucky season 3 is airing in Denmark/Sweden, even though it's pretty late at 1 am :(
love that you used tea cups for this! glad i found your blog xox
I sometimes refer to myself as Lady Rachel or Mrs. Matthew Crawley. Anyone else?
@redwhitebride - ah, I'm jealous! You can tape it!
@Rachel - ha, yes and in a British accent of course ;)

When I first heard about cocktails using eggwhites, I was so grossed out. But, I went to a "speak-easy" type bar in NYC and the bartender recommended a similar drink. I tried it and I was hooked!
yum, may have to try!

Love Downton Abbey, though I'm jealous your husband is also a fan(mine is definitely not)! Sybil is by far my fave, but a cocktail related to Thomas would be great! Maybe something spicy!
I already have both seasons of Downton abbey at home! one of my favourite series ever!!! ;) and I love Mary by the way heheh...this is a great cocktail! got to try it ;) xo, Alma
@Anonymous - oh yes, a Thomas cocktail would definitely be spicy... good call! ;)
@Amelia - ah, no way!
Oh SO fun!!! I just got back from London with a tin (or two!) of new Early Grey Tea...can't wait to try this.
I got hooked to Downton Abbey on the plane flying back from Dubai this winter and have seen both seasons right away. Can't wait for the new season to start. And yes, Sybil really is a great character. :-)

I am seriously SO obsessed with this show... it's one of Stefan and my guilty pleasures too. I want to see what Mary's cocktail is.
When I first started watching Downton Abbey, my husband would surreptitiously watch it while on his computer. We both became hooked and watched both seasons in a matter of days haha! My favorite character is definitely the Dowager Countess. Dame Maggie Smith can do no wrong!
Keep calm and carry lipstick.
It look tasty. I keep the recipe for the weekend.
Great idea for a post (and for a fun drink to serve during Downtown Abbey marathons!). Have a wonderful weekend!

obsessed with DA!!!! make a mary or matthew drink next!
Oh my I'm totally addicted to Downtown Abbey .. I seriously cannot wait for next season to start .. My favorite character has to be Lady Mary .. though she is a bit annoying sometimes with her decision making .. I still love her and the connection she has with Matthew .. The best thing about this show hands down is the Fashion .. totally inspiring.
