Crannibal Lector

Watching The Silence of the Lambs (which I had never seen and still have never seen) while drinking cosmos aka: 'Crannibal Lectors' seemed like the perfect end to the weekend until about 20 minutes into the movie. It's funny, horror films always seem like a great idea especially around Halloween but I think I've turned into a bit of a wimp as I get older. If you're braver than I am, make a 'Crannibal Lector,' turn down the lights and sit back and wait for Anthony Hopkins to give you the creeps. And if you're not a fan, you can always watch back to back episodes of Homeland like we ended up doing (such a great show).

I'd love to hear what movie has scared you the most over the years, mainly so I can be sure to never watch it (ha)!

Crannibal Lector

2 parts Beefeater Gin
3 parts cranberry juice
Lime wedge and mint to garnish

Pour all ingredients over cubed ice, stir and squeeze in the juice of a lime wedge.

Ha ha! I don't care for horror movies either. The Sixth Sense really creeped me out so I would recommend skipping that one.

I am right there with you. Even with previews, I have to watch through my fingers or immediately turn the channel. I have too much of an imagination for scary movies!
But, Homeland is incredible. I watched the first season one after the other to catch up and wish I could do that with this season! It is too hard to wait one whole week to see the new episode.

Your cocktail looks amazing for a scary movie marathon. Haven't seen Silence of the Lambs yet...maybe one day.

I love scary movies! Unfortunately, non of my friends do. And I refuse to watch one by myself! I've never tried gin and cranberry, but I'm a huge fan of any vodka based drink.

My hubby is still trying to ease me into watching horror movies, we started with old X-files episodes, then progressed slowly. I have now seen Silence of the Lambs and a Paranormal Activity! But I covered my eyes for most of it...

I'm a huge wuss when it comes to scary movies – I try to watch them, but find myself flipping to something else as soon as the especially scary scenes begin. I love the idea of pairing them with a cocktail though – that might help for sure!

Alicia,
You are so adorable, loving the name of the post! I will have to whip this together for our halloween festivities! :)

I love a great scary movie, but as I've gotten older, I find myself limiting the number I watch as I tend to freak myself out after the viewings {What was that noise? Did you hear the door creak..etc.} My favorite 'thriller' though is Rear Window. Such a classic. And Grace Kelly, my, she is beyond classic beauty in that movie!

I cannot handle scary movies either. For some reason, I was a lot braver when I was younger. As someone else said, The Exorcist is definitely the scariest movie to me. Silence of the Lambs wasn't too bad; I think it was more creepy than anything else, which is scary in itself.

Oh my gosh! I'm the exact same way! I used to "love" watching scary movies in high school only to be freaked out for weeks afterwards! (I swear I'm still scared of the dark!) The Walking Dead is just about as scary as I can do! Love this post and I'll definitely have to try the Crannibal Lector!

The Ring is still the scariest movie ever!! I probably should not have watched it alone at my parents house in the woods while everyone was already asleep and my dad was out of town...hmm. Oh and the phone rang right after the movie, which if you have seen it you will realize how scary that would be! I slept in my mom's bed that night...as an adult...

@Gina ~ I have watched the Ring and it would be totally scary if the phone rang after! Yikes... especially if alone in the woods.

This was the first post of yours I've read (I know, I've been living under a rock), and you're just too cute :) I adore scary movies, but I also have to leap onto my bed from several feet away because my child-brain is convinced a hand is going to reach out and grab my ankle :P Perhaps your strategy is wiser!

I don't even bother with scary movies anymore because I spend about 80% of it hiding behind D's jacket and plugging my ears with my fingers, hahaha! That being said, although I've never watched it, I've heard that The Exorcist is the worst... people who laugh at movies like Paranormal Activity tell me they were kept up for nights after seeing it!

p.s. Love you in burgundy with matching lipstick. So chic!!

Hope you've been well Alicia!

One weekend when I was in college I decided to go home for some relaxation. My family was away so I had the whole place to myself. Nice, huh? Well, I thought I would kick back and make some popcorn and watch a movie. Silence of the Lambs was on. I made it about 20 minutes, grabbed the cat and his cat box (any crazy murderer can kill not only me but my cat too!) and drove back to my dorm. Never watched this movie again!!!

Ahhh looks delish! I'm a wimp too so I don't watch horror films. But good choice with Homeland! My boyfriend and I are obsessed!

Definitely going to try this...and I completely agree with you. Back when my boyfriend and I started dating seeing scary movies seemed like a fun idea but they scare me so much now! I'm chicken!

I am TERRIFIED of scary movies. Absolutely terrified. The only one I can semi-stand is Signs, and that's barely scary to a normal person. I'll never understand those that love watching them! I like to sleep too much ;)
