London Calling

Packing List: Rag & Bone Fedora.  Vince + 3.1 Phillip Lim Sweaters.  UGG Australia Bag.
Viva La Fleur La Juicy Roll Perfume.  Theyskens' Theory Flats.  Kate Spade Earbuds

Not only am I excited to spend the next two weeks in London, but I'm so looking forward to spending those days dressed in fall attire. My little sister is moving there for grad school, and I of course had to take advantage of her apartment flat. My mom and I will be tagging along to make sure she gets settled into her place, and we'll be hitting up all the touristy as well as not-so-touristy local hangouts. High tea is high on my to-do list (pun-intended). I've been gathering recommendations over the past few weeks and now my list is actually quite extensive (I think I'll have to make another trip or two later this year to visit her again). I mean I just have to take advantage of Europe's proximity now that I'm on the East Coast, right?!

YAY! For London! I'm so jealous!!! :D
In case you want a list of other things to do, here's what I loved doing in my two visits:

- You HAVE to go to Pizza Express and get the dough balls, SO delish! :)

- High Tea at the Ritz (which is where you're already planning to go, I assume) is also really fun, and the Mad Hatter Tea at the Sanderson Hotel. And another tea is Bake-a-Boo.

- Abbey Road, obviously (and then watch yourself on the webcam when you get home) ;)

- If you have time and like Harry Potter you have to go to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour at Leavesden, it's the actual sets they used and it's amazing! :)

And also, in case you aren't aware:

1. Get an Oyster Card, it's for the tube and makes it so much easier to get around. Also, with the card you have a max amount to pay each day. If you didn't have the card you could waste a lot of money on tube fare. https://oyster.tfl.gov.uk/

2. Get a Travelex card to use as a credit card, makes it easier so you don't have to carry a ton of cash. It works just like a credit card, you can reload it or take the money back out when you leave. http://www.travelex.com/

Not to carp, but you need blouses or long-sleeve tees for under those sweaters, NOT camis. And, as someone else pointed out, a coat! I went to London in June and nearly froze to death. Take plenty of layers, but realistic ones. In September in London you will never peel down to a cami! It's my favorite place in the world and will probably become yours as well, but that is in spite of the weather. Have a great time!

You're going to have so much fun! I had a 20 hour layover in London on my way home from Israel a couple years ago and the city will steal your heart. So exciting for your sister, as well, to be embarking on such an adventure! Can't wait to see photos! :)

You will absolutely love it there, Alicia! I was there at this exact time last year. I'm not sure where in London you're staying, but we stayed in Covent Garden and it was SO charming. You must walk through there...such great shopping, restaurants, etc. Can't wait to see all the pics from your trip! You should also take the train to Paris if you have time...only 2 hours!

I studied in London, and I cannot wait to go back this upcoming May for a few days. If you want a great place for coffee/tea/pastries go to County Hall Bakery. It's within walking distance from the London Eye! The women who work there are beyond lovely (they gave me a cupcake for my birthday to celebrate), and the decor is beautiful!

I used to live in London and these are my 3 restaurant/pub suggestions:

Gordon's Wine Bar- Famous wine bar in at old cellar. One of the coolest places in London

Lupita- Right down the street from Gordon. Mexican food in London sounds strange, but it is the best guacamole and premium margaritas I have ever had (and I'm from Texas and I live in Southern California now).

Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese- One of the oldest pubs in London. Dickens wrote about this place in his books.

Have so much fun! I miss London more every day.
