When I first moved to the East Coast my summer wardrobe was seriously lacking. Slowly but surely I've invested in a few items here and there that are more humidity friendly, and this Joie dress (currently on sale) is one of them. It actually fits me like a maxi but is shown on the model as a mid-length dress and is slightly see-through, so I've been wearing it with a light slip underneath. What I really love about this dress is that I plan to wear it well into the fall belted with chunkier knit sweaters and ankle boots.

I have the opposite problem, I live in the deep south so *most* of my clothes are for summer, and when I go to other climates I don't know what to wear. I am also short, so you have clearly found the solution to all the maxi dresses that are too long, great idea to wear a midi dress instead!

Oh my, I would love to have that dress for travel! It would be so perfect for the dressy but comfy look I'm always trying to achieve on flights.
