The panama hat has easily become my number one summer style staple, and here are three reasons why I think you may want to consider investing in one of your own.
1. Instantly completes any ensemble (both outfits pictured here are rather simple but with the addition of my panama hat they feel pulled together).
2. Running late and don't have time to style your hair (or in my case having a frizzy hair day and there's no hope)? Just throw on your panama hat.
3. Protect your face and hair from the sun. I've been washing my hair less frequently now that I dye it red and wearing a hat in between washes is the way to go.

I do need one... except... my head is so big that hats never fit me! So sad as I really love that one from J.Crew. I had bought one a while back but had to return it as it did not fit my gargantuan dome.

I am in the same boat as Grace, they never fit me. And I really don't think it is all that flattering when people wear too small hats on the very top of their head.
So I am waiting to either save up for one that has actual sizes (more expensive versions have that) or just accept that this style of hat doesn't work for me?! hahhaaa never!!

100% agree on all counts! Panama hats complete any outfit in the summer. I seem to be wearing mine all the time- my hair is out of control when it's humid and this makes me look all the more presentable. You look adorable!
So I purchased a panama hat months ago and have yet to wear it...for some reason I just don't think it looks right on me. :( Your's looks awesome however! Love it.

You look fabulous and your arguments in favor of hats are indisputable but my issue is how to resurrect my hair after wearing a hat without disappearing to the bathroom with a teasing brush and bottle of dry shampoo. Any thoughts?

I DO love this hat, problem is, my heads sorta BIG, so hats are always snug on me....reason number 2 sold me off the bat....I'll continue to try 'em on until I find one that fits this big head lol

Love both looks, one casual and one feminine.
I have been getting so many questions on hyper pigmentation lately (I'm a beauty blogger) and I really do think a hat is the answer! You can't really "fight" it other the heavy SPF everyday and beach days. Fall and winter is when we can really pull out the skncare big guns. Maybe one day we can do a sun damage hat post together :)
