Mini Moments

A late afternoon manicure (I'm currently on a neutral nail polish kick), wearing a skull ring from Plukka.

This week has flown by. I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying living in New York City and how often I've been dancing around our apartment in sheer excitement. The rest of our furniture arrived yesterday (including my desk and chair from CB2!) and our place is starting to feel more like home. I hope you're having a great week; here are four mini moments from mine.

Taco night at La Esquina (order the shrimp tacos!).

Finally discovered a solution for my ever growing jewelry collection and bought four of these large acrylic open stacking trays at the Container Store.

Enjoying a giant iced coffee + chocolate croissant while sitting in the window of our apartment.

question about the clear containers for jewelry - do you know if this will cause oxidation of costume jewelry?? i am forever looking for a way to store all my stuff without risking discoloration.

I'm having a hard time finding those boxes on the Container Store's site. Do you know what the item was called? They are exactly what I've been looking for! Thanks!

Love the jewelry storage! I hate the idea of hanging everything so this is a much more viable option for me!

OMG I am in love with those clear containers. I just started a Stella & Dot business (love me some Jewellery) and I need to control it somehow! This is a great idea. Plus it shows it off so nicely.

Jane said...

There are little papers that you can buy that counteract the oxidation. The plastic wouldn't be the problem unless it is trapping moisture. Humidity, perfumes, creames - all these things lead to increased oxidation, but it will happen over time anyways. To clean just use a mixture of baking soda and water.

The last pic makes me want to have a chocolate drink RIGHT NOW

Alicia Lund said...

@Jane - wow thanks that's great to know!

Jane said...

No problem. 3M makes the little papers and I have made the paste to clean some really tarnished silver jewellery and it worked awesome.
