Slip'n Slide

Snow days in New York City seem awfully glamorous yet when I was actually sloshing around I quickly realized...

1) what a hazardous slip'n slide the sidewalks actually are 2) that a white coat is completely impractical 3) ducking into cafes, boutiques and wine bars every other block is the only way to defrost 4) a night in, complete with take-out sushi and Sex and the City re-runs is the ultimate way to round out a chilly snow filled day.

And so that's exactly how I spent my Saturday.  It was lovely.

Zara Jacket and Scarf.  Vince Leather Jacket.  Target Turtle Neck.
gifted Paige Jeans.  J.Crew Boots.  Alexander Wang Bag.

East coast winters are all about that good intention. I'll put together a meticulous look, then it all goes to hell because no coat is as warm as my knee-length quilted down one.

I am always surprised at how frigid NYC can become! Loving the print of those pants, so unexpected and fun!

I am obsessed with your bag!! I'm in NYC as well and my weekend plans kinda went out the window when I woke up Saturday and it was snowing! It's always best to stay in and order takeout on these days!

Since this is my first winter in my own apartment, I shoveled snow for the first time!! (Don't know why I'm so excited about manual labor)

I love my cream-colored coat too, but it's a fact that winter in New York gets nasty fast when snow starts falling! Tea and Sympathy and a night in sound perfect!

The city looks so pretty in the snow! Even if it was more like slushy and gross than a winter wonderland, these photos really capture the magical feeling of it. And a white coat may not be the most practical but I love how crisp and clean it looks in the chilly weather!

Have a great week Alicia!

the mistake is.... you think you can run around in something other than huge snow boots. and you cannot. i wore some ballet flats with a rubber soul on sunday, and hated myself for it!

Winter always sounds more glamorous than it actually is. We had a big snowfall last Friday here in Chicago, and my office closed early in an effort to help us get home safely. I thought I could put up with the weather and tried to go shopping, but ended up retreating home with a bottle of wine and takeout after 20 minutes!

Those jeans look absolutely vulgar in the crotch area. This should be on What NOT to Wear.
