Pleats + Leather

H&M Jacket. Parker Dress. Miu Miu Heels. Tory Burch Purse
Dannijo ID Bracelet and Earrings (similar pair here). DIY Friendship Bracelet.

Instead of wearing sequins to the Glitter Guide party I settled on this pleated Parker dress (last seen here) worn with a faux leather jacket and leopard print heels for an edgy mix. I wore both the heels and Dannijo earrings on my wedding day so this ensemble brought back fun memories for me!

Wishing you a happy and safe fourth of July weekend!

A Glittery Fete

Last night we celebrated the launch of the Glitter Guide! I enjoyed mingling and ogling all of the bright colors and sequins that showed up to celebrate with us!

Lightly Layered

Equipment Striped Sophie Blouse. JCrew Vest. AG Jeans. Zara Heels. Louis Vuitton Wallet.

Although we had nice weather this past weekend I still needed an extra little layer and wore this vest everywhere! I'm always cold so vests and light weight jackets are my best friend, especially during the San Francisco summer months when the sun is shinning but the wind is blowing. I also can't get enough of this semi-sheer Striped Sophie Equipment blouse (also seen here and here). This blouse gives more coverage than a tee or tank yet still maintains a summery feel that I crave this time of year. I love it so much that I'm slightly tempted to pull the trigger on this one too.

I included this photo for the silly kid in the background (as well as the SF trolley love)! ;)

A Champagne Birthday

This past weekend we celebrated my little sister's "champagne" birthday (aka her Golden Birthday) with cocktails, sweet potato fries, friends and family as well as a sunny day spent wine tasting in Sonoma. The weather was perfect, and the combination of wine plus family always makes for a great time. It was one of those weekends that I simply didn't want to end.

Currently Crushing

Opening Ceremony Shorts. Jewel Mint Earrings.

I'm currently crushing on my new Opening Ceremony silk scalloped shorts and 1920's-esque Jewel Mint earrings. I plan to wear them both this weekend and speaking of the weekend, I am especially looking forward to celebrating my little sister's birthday. She's turning 24 on the 24th (her golden b-day), which means I have to make it extra special and memorable for her!

Tomboy

JCrew Blazer and Necklace. Vintage Blouse. Current / Elliot Jeans. Zara Heels.

From girlie in shorts to masculine in jeans, that's how I and the temperamental San Francisco summer weather roll! I paired a structured blazer with distressed jeans for an edgy meets prep spin. And I must admit, for as girlie as I am and as much as I like to play dress up, I feel most comfortable and myself in a laid back, slightly tomboy-ish outfit like this (as long as I get to wear heels).

Bow Tied

JCrew Top. 7 For All Mankind Shorts. Forever 21 and Dannijo Harlow ID Bracelets. Tory Burch Bag.

I wore this adorable Anthropolgie bow (courtesy of the sweet and fun Rue Magazine girls) all weekend long. Not only did it make me feel girlie, but I felt very Blair Eadie chic as well with my bow and hair in the bun. I also painted my nails a festive shade of what I call "sparkle mint" a la the Glitter Guide.

A Leopard Evening

Nanette Lepore Dress. Vince Sweater. Christian Louboutins Heels. Alexander Wang Rocco Bag. Dannijo Earrings (similar pair).

I wore this outfit out to dinner at Baker and Banker on Saturday evening. I (of course) had the urge to wear leopard print, but opted for a more comfortable option and layered a bulky sweater on top of this Nanette Lepore wrap dress. This gave me the ability to indulge in extra slices of their freshly baked bread and delicious triple "x" chocolate cake, which I highly recommend.

Silk Stripes

JCrew Romper (last worn here). Alice + Olivia Jacket. Vintage Blouse. Alexander Wang Bag (currently on my wish list).
Fenton Necklace. Michael Kors Watch. Forever 21 Heels.

I have made it my mission to make use of the items in my closet that don't get as much love as they deserve. Take this romper for instance, it was last worn a year ago during my summer trip to NYC, and that my friends is a shame! I simply added a little leather to the mix and this silk number instantly became city chic.

So have you enjoyed the Glitter Guide this week or what?! I'm pretty proud of our team, their dedication and all the late night hard work. They seriously rock. I've enjoyed the interviews and posts I've been working on as well. As a huge jewelry lover, today's post on JewelMint was especially fun to write (you can check it out here), and fun fact: my friend contributes to the JewelMint Blog!

The Uniform

This ensemble is basically my uniform (what I want to wear most days of the week). I'm a silk blouse and distressed or boyfriend jeans kind of girl with an obsession for oversized sunnies, bold jewelry and mint green nails. What's your daily uniform?

Unpacked {Daily Sparkle}

The worst part about traveling is unpacking when you return home. Since I've been known to leave my luggage zipped up in the corner of my room for days I decided to make the process more bearable by snapping a few photos (and nibbling on a toblerone bar). From the Chanel lipgloss that I wore on my wedding day to the novel I read by the pool in Palm Desert, all of the sparkly items above are mini reminders of the past two weeks.

And in honor of the Glitter Guide (launched today), which aims to bring readers daily sparkle and inspiration, this evening I plan to celebrate with champagne while sporting my Dannijo earrings and leopard print pajama pants (quite the sight).

Playing Tourist

Banana Republic Trench. Sophie Equipment Blouse (first seen here). Rock and Republic Jeans.
Miu Miu Wedges. Alexander Wang Bag. Chanel Sunglasses.

This past weekend the Mr. and I enjoyed tootling around Los Angeles. We stayed at the  Thompson Beverly Hills Hotel and honestly had a hard time leaving the hotel roof top bar and pool, but when we did our game of tourist included: a drive through Beverly Hills, cupcakes and lunch on 3rd Street, dinner at Cecconi's, a lap around Rodeo Drive and Robertson Boulevard as well as multiple trips to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. I thoroughly enjoyed the people watching and he loved the ridiculous car sightings. And while I'm definitely more of a Northern California girl at heart, I am already looking for an excuse to make my way back down there again soon.

Palm Springin' {Parte Deux}

Sadly, our time in Palm Spring is up, but fortunately for us we're heading into Los Angeles for a final weekend of playtime before it's back to reality. Highlights from Palm Springs included: lunch at Cheekys, date banana milk shakes at Hadleys (my parent's favorite and great recommendation), evening drives with the windows down, wearing my panama hat with every outfit and glasses of champagne to round out the week.

Palm Springin'

We've been enjoying all that Palm Springs has to offer. Yesterday included brunch and mimosas at Normas in The Parker, and while we're not staying there as guests I was definitely impressed with all the Jonathan Adler (a personal favorite) decor. Besides exploring we've spent most afternoons poolside, followed by evening barbecues complete with roasted marshmallows.
