NYC Diary {Part 2}

After living in hilly San Francisco, I really appreciate that New York is flat. Being that it's such a walkable city every time I visit I try to explore and really get lost in the different neighborhoods. This is the best way to stumble upon new gems that only a local would know about. One gem in particular that my sister and I discovered this past weekend was a wine and beer bar - The Otheroom in the West Village. Have you been? The exposed brick walls, dark lighting and cozy atmosphere would make for the perfect date night spot!

Olive Oil on Popcorn at Norma Kamali.
I could practically drink olive oil (it's the Italian in me) so this is going to be my new snack obsession!

I miss the MET! I was an art history major so I used to be there all the time.

I actually stumbled upon The Otheroom the same way! It is a great spot! I even like it in the daytime even more than at night!

I totally agree--getting lost and stumbling upon a cute place is the best way to go in NYC! It makes me feel like I'm an insider when I'm in the city! ;)

@Chelsea - Her jacket is from Banana Republic (but a year ago I believe).

popcorn and olive oil, why didn't I think of that! I have a local olive oil company that sponsors me. When I get a new batch of flavored oils I'll be snacking on a ton of popcorn also, I love that idea! What ended up being your favorite region?

ps, I know you love NYC but do you ever miss SF?

I am officially a) curious about the Otherroom, and b) jealous of the cheetah jeans. I'll have to check it out... Sounds like a lovely weekend -- makes me feel like a bum for not having been to the Met in months!

Olive oil on popcorn...this might be a dumb question but is this a place in NYC where you can get all you can eat popcorn?

Alicia said...

@Leesh - This tasting was at Norma Kamali - you can buy the olive oils there and eat as much popcorn can you want. ;))
