Statement necklaces are my favorite way to accessorize an outfit and this mixed chain necklace is incredibly easy to make yourself. The only difficult part is tracking down high quality chain!
What you'll need:
1. Chain (you can make many versions of this necklace - all gold, all silver, etc.)
2. Wire Cutters
3. Clasp and End Loops
Measure and cut chain to desired length. I made this necklace shorter, but long chain necklaces look great too.
Using pliers, attach circular end pieces and clasp. It's as simple as that!
If you aren't feeling crafty I've put a few of these necklaces in my etsy shop (here).

This looks so good! I love heavy chains like that and have been anxious to make a few necklaces. Where did you find such good chains?
,,,please do share where you find quality chains, it's a challenge for me, hence, why i haven't made one of these darling necklaces,,,
Love this! I actually bought some chains recently to make a necklace... having trouble cutting them because I don't have a wire cutter but I'm going to my parents house this weekend so I'll definitely get them cut!

@A Sequin Dress - I would try your local bead / jewelry store... some hardware stores carry cool chain too!
I love DIY projects--if only I am creative enough to do them myself! My friend Ashleigh and I went to General Bead in SOMA and she went nuts on jewelry DIY projects. I, on the other hand, will be watching and purchasing them from her :) It's great that you have that talent!

@Victoria - Totally understand, sometimes DIY projects can go terribly wrong and be rather frustrating. I loved visiting General Bead in SF!
I love this-I don't generally mix gold and silver but this is too divine not to!
Hi Alicia!
I love this!
Where do you purchase your chains?

Love this mix of gold and silver.
Hi,
Are there any online shops you could recommend that sell these curb link chains that are 20 mm and higher? Like the thick curb and boxcar chains such as the ones you have featured here? I live far away and wouldnt mind purchasing the chains online.
LOVE the DIY! I just bought a bracelet just like this actually at Target! Haha.
Thanks for sharing! :)
