Skin Secrets {RODIN olio lusso}

I've battled skin issues for what seems like forever. Acne, dry skin, oily - you name it, I've dealt with it (fun stuff). Moving from the west coast to the east I was slightly nervous in regards to what this may mean for my skin and my routine. Oddly enough, even with the slight humidity we've been experiencing my skin tends to have dry patches (as well as oily) so when given the chance to test out RODIN olio lusso I jumped on it. I will admit, I was a little leery to rub oil on my sensitive, acne prone skin but after just a few drops a day (both morning and night) my skin is brighter than ever, soft, and believe it or not, completely non-greasy! I'm more than positive this stuff will be my savior come the dead of winter.

While the results have been awesome for me and I encourage you to try it, miracle potions don't necessarily come in bottle form. I'm a true advocate of a healthy diet and lifestyle for the best skin results. I prefer a simple skin care routine mixed with plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables and water. Random Fact: I gave up dairy in college and switched to soy/almond products which I've found has helped with my breakouts. I've had a difficult time giving up cheese but I find my skin looks best when I skip dairy completely (yep, it's rough).

What skin secrets/products do you swear by - I'm so curious to know?!

I've always wanted to try this because I have the same skin problems too, especially now in in winter when my skin gets so dry. I've fallen in love with Loreal's Youth Code serum, it has a really smooth texture and doesn't make skin oily. I might have to try this in the winter though for something a little more hydrating.

have been using it for the past month, and really like it. I will combine it with my creme de la mer, which I have been using for the last 5 years and love it. I would highly recommend Rodin though, I have to thank Caitlin from Sac Street for that!

I completely agree with you on how a healthy diet and lifestyle can affect skin. I have noticed an incredible difference after I started consuming more fruits and water. I am going to try out giving up dairy products, thanks for the tip :)

A similar product (and half the price) is Dr. Hauschka Normalzing Day Oil...lots of clean, good ingredients and great for your skin.

Alicia, sounds like we battle the same exact skin issues (although you'd never know by looking at your gorg pics!) I too have cut out dairy (sigh), and it does help. I swear by my DDF Revolve!! It's like an in home microderm kit and it has dramatically improved my skins texture, reduced pore size and has greatly helped with my acne!

Have a great weekend! xx www.casualglamorous.com

I'm so glad you posted this review. I have always found that staying with the same products helps with less breakouts. Whenever I try a new lotion, I always break out -- so I just keep with my aveeno for sensitive skin.

ALSO -- no candy for me or else I get zits like a teenager. And that's hard for me because I love candy.

I have experienced the same skin issues as you noted, acne, combo skin, dry skin in the winter. The one thing I cannot shake is adult acne, I even went to the derm last week for some stronger ointment. I do use a clarisonic to wash my face, use a clarins purifying mask 1x a week, and also my whole skincare is from Clarins. The one acne potion i loved was Ole Hendriksen and he discontinued that roll on blemish attack. I am going to give Rodin a try!

This stuff looks interesting! I've always had clear skin and then one day (I swear, it happened after I turned 26) my skin started going crazy. I'm talking, crazy breakouts along my jaw that I never had before. I tried many things and some stuff worked, some didn't, but currently I'm using Differin 0.3 gel and knock on wood, but the stuff has been keeping me clear! Nothing sucks more than struggling with breakouts - so I completely hear you on that! I also try to limit my dairy, but find it so hard because I adore cheese.

I have no secret for perfect skin, cause nothing seems to work on mine! So I will be happy to try that little oily prodcut you are talking about!
About dairy product...well I'v always been a huge fan of dairy, but I think I had too much and became allergic. Too bad for me cause without dairy I really don't know what to eat! Nothing's appealing anymore to me. What might be the problem is my daily piece of chocolate though... But I don't wanna leave that one out!! I never drink or smoke, I can at least have one addiction!! LOL

I'm dying to try this oil as well but agree with you - great skin comes from the inside. I try to eat lots of healthy fruits and veggies... I find that my skin looks its best when I avoid alcohol and caffeine... but what fun is that?! xo

I got my first facial at probably 13, and my aesthetican handed me a bottle of Decleor ylang ylang oil-I've never looked back!

I LOVE the clarisonic! Plus the Dermalogica antioxidant hydramist, it smells amazing and leaves your skin so dewy.

I use the Olio Lusso lipbalm and I love it. It makes the lips super soft and gives them a beatiful, suble colour. For skincare, my must-have products are Dermalogica daily microfoliant and Shu Uemura cleansing oil (just started trying the green version - antioxidant - and I really like it).

I used to have the very same skin issues as what you have described. I have tried everything under the sun but what I have found to work, finally, is a combo of Renee Rouleau products: http://www.reneerouleau.com/, Skin Cueticals products: http://www.skinceuticals.com/, the Clarisonic and a good dermatologist to extract any zits I get! Honestly though, ever since I started these products and a good day and night regimen, I don't have breakouts anymore. Renee Rouleau says dairy products are one of the top causes for acne - smart girl you are ;)

Agh! It's so funny you mentioned giving up dairy because I've been plagued with acne for what seems my whole life, and I have recently considered giving up dairy for two weeks just to see if it would make an impact. But I just couldn't give up cheese! Agh. Well, maybe I will give it a shot just to see, especially after what anonymous posted above.

i have very similar skin issues as you talked about...so this may be something i may try. I am using skin ceuticals now & it works pretty well. But i always like to try other things to see if they work too! I also gave up milk/dairy products and drink only almond milk. thanks! :)))

I have super fussy skin too! I used Aquaphor, it's an over the counter ointment. I'm also probably the world's biggest Aveeno fan!

I would like to try this oil at some point. It's a little pricey though and I would want to be sure it would work for my skin. I really like Sonya Dakar's Drying Potion. It clears up spots in a couple of days.

Thank you so much for this post! I need more bloggers to post about skincare. I look at so many of their pictures and get bummed out my skin isn't as beautiful as theirs. I know I can photoshop the junk out of my photos before posting to my blog but the initial viewing of the pictures brings me way down. Again, thank you for your honesty and your advice!

I have always dealt with skin issues as well..I have a "skincare" section on my blog and it's solely devoted to Mario Badescu skincare products. They have been the only products that have helped me and my family/friends LOVE me for recommending this line. Their spa is in downtown Manhattan..I live an hour north and it may seem annoying to have to order them its not because they come in 2 Days..they are also so helpful there or over the phone with advising you on what products to use for your skin type..
Sorry so long but worth it :)
