The Mmoon Empanadas {San Jose}

I stopped by The Mmoon in downtown San Jose last night to grab empanadas and a Corona with my girlfriend. This dine in / take-out gourmet empanada eatery is run by one of my best girlfriend's Argentine family. If you have never tried an empanada, you're in for a treat. Think gourmet hot pocket with a side of the most scrumptious "secret" chimichurri sauce. I'm awfully biased and think all their empanadas are delicious but I'd have to say my favorites are: cheese & onion and pizza.

*Stop in this Friday for a free empanada in honor of National Empanada Day

I love empanada, we ate a good few whilst in S.A a few weeks ago. My bf got very addicted to Quilmers too - very refreshing! I just posted some pictures of it yesterday!

I'm filipino and because the Philippines was a Spanish colony for years and years, our culture has some spanish flair from food to language! My mom makes these fantastic little empanadas- they're so yum :)

Growing up with a Colombian nanny, I ate a LOT of empanadas, but I'm absolutely awful at making them! John and I will have to make a food pilgrimage!

It's not nice to post pictures of delicious food while I'm stuck working away with no hopes of eating empanadas in the next, oh 5 minutes. I'm drooling. I haven't made it out of the city a lot since I've moved here, but if and when I'm in San Jose, I'll definitely have to try this!
