The Perfect Hoodie

Rebecca Taylor Sweater, JCrew Tank and Necklace, 7 for all Mankind Jeans

Rebecca Taylor never disappoints me. I usually want everything in this ultra feminine line. Ruffles, florals, animal prints - yes please! This wool hooded zip-up sweater is the perfect way to keep things casual while still looking cute. Add a sparkly necklace and you can easily take this hoodie from around the house to brunch or an outing with the girls. Carefree, cozy and chic, what other "C" could you possibly ask for?

A Lazy Afternoon

My weekend was filled with plenty of "me time." It is often rare to find myself with a free afternoon, with no where to be or someone to see. I usually feel like I should take advantage of my weekends with the utmost productivity; laundry, grocery shopping, time with friends etc. And while I consider myself a pretty social person who rarely likes to be alone, I have realized more recently that I do need and enjoy those afternoons spent all by myself. Saturday I caught up on all of my September issues, made cards out of the latest JCrew catalog and re-watched episodes of The Rachel Zoe Project. Sometimes you just owe it to yourself to spend the majority of a day planted on the couch.

How do you spend your time alone?

iPhone Moments

I'm currently updating my iphone and went through all the photos I've taken in the past year.
Here's a smattering of what I take via my phone... can you tell I have a blog about cheetah print or what?
Happy Weekend!!! :)

Summer in the City

Warmer temps have finally arrived in San Francisco and it feels oh so good. We shall see how long these summer-like days decide to stick around but for now I am enjoying these rare, no sweater necessary nights.

Missing New York

I found myself reminiscing about my New York trip today so I decided to post more of my photos. I'm not sure if I actually miss the city itself or just the fiance I left behind. Either way, I am in the midst of planning a trip back east around Thanksgiving (fingers crossed). In the mean time, snail mail and skype dates will do the trick.

Grey Studs

JCrew Pants, Top & Necklace, Alexander Wang Tee & Purse, Stuart Weitzman Heels

Here's what I threw on to wear to Bar Bambino last Thursday night. It's always exciting when an item of clothing (or in this case, heels) is found after having been missing in action, usually in my own room. Case in point: my beloved grey suede-studded Stuart Weitzman heels. I love the subtle character the studs add to an otherwise basic grey pump. I've had to resole these babies two or three times now because of all the love they've received over the years... ah, memories.

Bar Bambino

I checked another restaurant off my mission wish list: Bar Bambino. We were seated in the outside patio area which was quaint, pleasantly warm, and overall the most ideal atmosphere for dinner with a close girlfriend. The food was absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend both salads we ordered as well as the whole wheat pasta with mushrooms. We finished off our meal with vanilla gelato topped with sea salt and olive oil. The salty-sweet combination was perfection.
{Caprese Salad}
{Proscuitto-wrapped peaches}
{Spelt fazzoletti with a market-mix of mushrooms}
{Bigoli with sardines, saffron, and sultanas}
{Vanilla gelato with lavender, sea salt and olive oil}

Looking forward to my next date night in the mission!

Day Sparkle

Vintage Sweater and Clutch, Alexander Wang Tee, Rock & Republic Boyfriend Jeans, BCBG Heels, JCrew Necklace

I recently spotted this sequined sweater at one of my favorite consignment shops (Cris) on Polk Street. Even before trying it on I knew it would come home with me. I've already sported this sweater quite a few times in the past few days because let's face it, everyone needs a little sparkle in their daily routine.

True Fact: sequins by day (as well as night) promote spontaneity, productivity, lots of laughter and overall happiness. Give it a whirl...

Yellow Nails

My girlfriends all know that I have a slight obsession with nail polish. I change my nail color at least once a week, usually twice. Painting my nails is a bigger part of my beauty routine than any makeup, and to be honest, I would sport many more funky colors (ie: yellow) if I didn't happen to work in a very corporate setting. It was after watching this Alice + Olivia video last week that I became intrigued and painted my nails yellow. I have already switched to a more work appropriate color (chin chilly by essie) but am still lusting after that bright and sunny color.

Would you sport yellow nail polish?

The Leopard Scarf

Dear Friends,

A leopard print scarf is a fall staple.
Get out of the house and purchase one asap!

Sister Time

Joie Blouse, Chip and Pepper Jeans, Alexander Wang Tee and Purse, JCrew Jacket and Necklace, Snakeskin Heels from Australia

This past week / weekend has been nonstop sister time. We finally caught each other up on all the stories and gossip that happened in each of our lives over the past few months. Our weekend included: tacos and margaritas, city walks, birthday present shopping, a trip to visit our cousin in Oakland, and watching Eat Pray Love with girlfriends. Which, by the way, I loved!! How was your weekend?

The Corner Store

Alice + Olivia Sweater, JCrew Pants, Alexander Wang Tee and Purse, Nine West Boots, Michael Kors Watch

When I first moved into the city I was overly excited about grocery shopping. I'm talking about buying my bread and eggs at the corner store, simply because it made me feel like a true San Franciscan. Of course there is always the cheaper option of hiking down the hill to Safeway or Trader Joes, but it's just not the same. And even though the corner store doesn't always have those key ingredients you may need, it's all about improvising for the experience. If the grocer knows you by name this is even more telling that you are in fact a local.
* These photos do not do this Alice + Olivia sweater justice...it is covered in sequins!! *

Cherry Pie Success

Monday night I had an unusual craving to bake a cherry pie. This was particularly odd because (one) I'm not a huge pie fan and (two) I've never baked pie. None the less I purchased the necessary ingredients (including vanilla bean ice cream) and pitted 2 pounds of fresh cherries by hand. I'm pretty sure my fingers will be stained all week long but the outcome was completely worth it!
Cherry pie always reminds me of my Dad - it's his favorite.
What's your favorite kind of pie?

Girls with Style {Erica}

JCrew Sweater, Top from Ambiance, F21 Necklace, Naem Denim Co Jeans

My sister Erica is back after a 4 and 1/2 month teaching spree in Italy. I am so happy to have this little girl back in my life, right in time to help me with all the wedding planning. ;) And since she is currently living out of a suitcase I have been nice enough to let her play dress up in my closet (the necklace and sweater are both mine!).
PS: This frigid weather is crazy. I am having a hard time keeping track of what season we are actually in.
