Celeb 'Style' Crush {Mary-Kate Olsen}

I heart this fur shawl Mary-Kate is wearing almost as much as I love finding re-runs of Full House on TV. Those girls were freaking adorable as Michelle! And, I recently sat directly behind Jodie Sweeten (Stephanie Tanner) at the play Wicked.

If you live in SF, have you tried searching for the Full House house?!
Located at: 1709 Broderick Street

Who was your favorite Full House family member?
Mine: Uncle Jessie

PS: You should really check out Olsens Anonymous; always amazing photos of these stylish little ladies.

Girlfriends with Style

While I wouldn’t call myself fashionless, I most certainly am not miss fashionista either. In fact, after work and on the weekends I can usually be found wearing little to no makeup, work out clothes and my hair pulled up into what my family calls a ‘chinese bun.’ My boyfriend hasn’t thrown me to the curb yet (going on 6 years), so the bun can’t be THAT bad?! Yes I am super girly, love to shop, appreciate designer items and even attempt to keep updated on current trends. But honestly, I'm not one of those girls who can throw together an amazing outfit... I often need help.

Sure I get ideas from Vogue and all the amazing blogs out there ;) ... but I get most of my style tips and inspiration from my girlfriends. They have taught me many a thing or two about fashion; like layering necklaces, even before this trend was popular (thank you Tara) and the amazingness of $9.50 Forever21 jeans (thank you Carlina) …seriously go out and buy them NOW. They fit like a glove. I've learned elephant caps from Michaels can be cute (thanks to Tessa and a never ending day of errands) as well as when it is and isn't appropriate to dress sexy (thanks to Nicole and her 'too sexy for work' shorts). Just to name a few.

So cheers to my fine lady friends with awesome style!!

DIY: Wedding Shoe Fund

First off, how cute is this couple? They just seem fun!

Secondly, I wanted to share with you my little "wedding shoe fund" secret.

What started as a fund for my own wedding (I want to walk down the aisle in ridiculously amazing heels, I don't even care about the dress that much... and I'm not sure my parents would approve dropping that much just on my shoes) soon turned into a fund for weddings in general. I began setting aside $75-100 per month in hopes of saving up for a pair of Christian Louboutins. I quickly realized I would also need to save up for the weddings I attend and am a part of. I'm still figuring out this 'real world' budget thing, but if you're in your mid 20's as I am, I think it's a rather smart idea to start thinking about all the weddings you will most likely be attending (or in) in the next few years. The money in my fund will go towards: wedding gifts, bridesmaid dresses, bachelorette parties and presents ... etc.

I'm just hoping that when it becomes time for my own wedding I will have enough left over for my shoes!!

Sunday Night Blues

{i built my new desk this weekend}

A Case of the Sunday Night Blues...

Ahh, Sunday mornings, so relaxing... luxurious, if you will.
You went out Friday night but decided to stay in Saturday so you're fully rested, feeling good. You also ran all of your errands on Saturday (or better yet during the week) so you can sleep in, go for a run, snuggle up on the couch (or stay in bed) reading/watching movies - all day long if you'd like. Your options are endless.

Sunday afternoon rolls around, you walk out of pilates class feeling rejuvenated. Proud that you dragged your booty there. You decide to take a stroll through the neighborhood, catching up on a little window shopping. It's sprinkling and you left your umbrella at home, but you're care free. Suddenly, you're inspired to bake! You race home to magically whip up a batch of delicious heart shaped sugar cookies (thank you Pillsbury break and bake) to fill your cookie jar. The smell of freshly baked cookies waft's through your apartment as you lay on the couch gazing into Ryan Gosling's eyes ('The Notebook' is on) and paint your nails a new shade: lollipop red.

7 o'clock strikes and the 'Sunday  Night Blues' hit you like a crashing wave.

The weekend is over.

In desperation you plea... what shows are on tonight?!
Desperate Housewives is a re-run?! Wait a second...

I need a glass of wine to cope with this ill fate.

A True City Girl

Well hello Friday, so happy to see you!

I have been living out of boxes this week, applying my makeup and trying to tame my wild curly hair while using a small mirror and sitting on the floor (our bathroom doesn't have an outlet). So blow drying, curling, flat ironing, will all take place in our bedrooms ... or kitchen? We finally have TV and I have been stealing our neighbor's internet all week, shhh! And on top of this, the cable car fly's down our street, setting off car alarms. You win some, you loose some when living in the city.

Although my life has been rather disheveled, I have been quite proud of myself for mastering the bus and train! Busing it to the train station at 6:40am (in the rain) is a very empowering feeling. I believe I am a true city girl after this week!

It's baby steps here and who knows, maybe in a few years I will be able to conquer commuting to work in the New York City snow... (just maybe).

For the Love of Cheetah {Tory Burch}

Tory Burch is one of my favorite designers. NOT only does she look absolutely beautiful in this picture but she is also rocking an amazing necklace and, wearing the cutest Cheetah wrap; which makes yours truly very happy! ;)

While we're talking Tory, here are a few Valentine's Day gift ideas...

This cherry red, strappy Liv Pump would be the perfect addition to my usual blah black and gray winter attire.

I want a new pair of brown sunny's and these Classic Cat Eye Sunglasses might just be what I've been looking for.

A new Heart Wristlet would be the perfect gift for any girl in your life!

And lastly, my personal favorite, the Metallic Reva Ballerina Flat in fuschia.
So comfy and yet so stylishly festive as well.

Hunter Rain Boots

City living/commuting by bus and train in this rainy weather has made me realize I am in serious need of a pair of Hunter Rain Boots. I don't know how I've survived this long without them and will be purchasing these by the end of the week.

My only question is: What color should I choose?

New Apartment Jitters

My roomies and I had our final walk through this week and I officially fell in love with our new apartment. I love the pale yellow walls and white wood paneling, adorable fireplace and (very romantic) twinkly lights in the living room. I can't wait to decorate, get settled in and have friends over for a house-warming!!

Here are a few pictures and links that have provided me with inspiration for my new bedroom:

I will definitely have some cheetah/animal print touches.
PS: no closet (again) haha ... and i think i need this shoe rack

...and a new lovely vanity for primping. :)

I will definitely need to get creative with storage.

Love this fabulous collection of Mirrors idea.

Pink accents and flowers add a bright and cheerful spin to any room.

Happy Friday; praying for those in Haiti.

Little Italy Gem: Washington Square

Fifth Gem: Washington Square

When I first moved to San Francisco I did not realize the importance of roof top accessibility from your apartment. It's a luxury to have roof access (I will add that my new place has an outside patio...woot, woot, very excited for summer bbq's)! So, if you do not have a roof top and want to lay out in the summer your options are very limited. I'm pretty pale and actually burn more than I tan, BUT Washington Square is the best place to sunbathe, bring your dog to play and picnic with friends on a warm day!! It's also a great place to people watch. ;)

Little Italy Gem: North Beach Pizza

Fourth Gem: North Beach Pizza

To satisfy my late night pizza cravings I head down the hill to North Beach Pizza.
NB Pizza offers a full menu inside the restaurant, pizza by the slice to-go (next door), and free delivery, for those nights I simply can't walk the three blocks. I  have tried almost all of their house specials by now, but I always seem to come back to: The North Beach Special. It is just so yummy! You can also make your own pizza, if you like to get creative! To top it off this pizza parlor is conveniently located between my apartment and the Northbeach bars; I've made my fair share of late night pizza stops (can we say dangerous)!!

What's your favorite kind of pizza?

Dream Wedding Cake

One of my lovely girlfriends just got engaged this past weekend!!
SO, because (a) I am very excited for her,
AND (b) I've been dreaming about my own wedding since age five,
I thought I would share with you my dream wedding cake.

I took this picture on my iphone so long ago that I don't even remember where it's from.
And I'm kicking myself in the booty for taking a pic and not buying the magazine!
But isn't this cake just the sweetest?!! You may remember that I love bows. ;)

Happy weekend, hope you have fun plans!

I want everything - but especially adore these...

Little Italy Gem: Blue Sparrow Pilates

My move is just two weeks away and I have only posted one 'Little Italy Gem.'
(I blame the holidays.)
If you don't remember my first post, you can read about it here. The idea was, I would blog about my favorite Northbeach hot spots before I move to Russian Hill. So let's see how many I can fit in between now and mid January! ;)

Second Gem: Blue Sparrow Pilates

* sorry so blurry, photo taken with my iphone *

Sadly, I have lived in Northbeach for a year and only recently started going to this studio.
Blue Sparrow is conveniently located a few blocks from my apartment so I had no excuse, I had to try it out! And after finally doing so I was hooked. I will definitely be driving to Northbeach to take pilates classes. This studio is super cute and all the instructors are very positive and encouraging! I look forward to going and have already seen results!! So if your New Years resolution was to get fit - try pilates, and definitely try Blue Sparrow in Northbeach! ;)

The Bachelor: Will you watch this season?

Will you be tuning in tonight to watch this season's Bachelor: Jake Pavelka
search for true LOVE.

I'm already embarrassed for him. If you watched last season, you understand. haha
This pilot is a little on the corny side, but should make for an interesting season! ;)

Happy 2010!!

I started this year off right...
wearing gold sequins.

I can already tell 2010 is going to be an amazing year, full of exciting changes.

I will be living/exploring a new neighborhood.
My boyfriend is moving to New York for Business School.
And my little sister is going back Italy
... just to name a few.
