Express Yourself {+ Ban.do Love}

When I think of my own personal style and taste the first word to pop out of my mouth is without a doubt girly! I'm constantly drawn to sequins, pretty packaging and basically anything that comes in a shade of pink. Yet when I sit down and really think about the items in my closet that's a whole other story. Rows of black and gray with the rather obvious cheetah print line my clothing rack (I really don't own a lot of pink). Yes most of those dismal colors are my 'professional' attire but I typically like to mix delicate blouses with the unexpected animal print and bold jewelry. I love the experimental aspect that comes with fashion. It's fun to see what works and doesn't and to learn from those possibly unflattering and sometimes embarrassing mistakes. Style is simply a form of self expression... how have you been expressing yourself lately?

PS: I asked Santa for Ban.do shoe clips... we shall see if he was listening ;) They are the ultimate stocking stuffer!

Such an interesting post Alicia. I love all things girly, sequins, pink, lace, etc. But then, I just cannot do girly heat to toe. If I ear a floral dress, I have to add some big statement necklace and a belt with studs all over. If I wear a ruffles, then I have to wear it with some not-so-girly oxfords and a mixture of pearls and heavy chains. I tried doing the all girly thing, but it wasn't me. I think lately I have stayed true to myself when creating outfits and I feel so much better about the way I look.
P.S. I am thinking about getting thos shoe cliips too for Valentine's day!

Thanks Alicia for keeping me current on fashion trends! I didn't know that shoe clips were back "in". I remember those from the 80's. Love your blog!

I love the idea of shoe clips in your stocking! I know John has a few gifts up his sleeve, but I'm not sure if he's savvy enough for those!

I adore the clips for the shoes, what a fabulous idea! I can relate to you when it comes to my closet...black, muted tones, and cheetah! I too adore sequins, but don't have much so I just got a gold sequin skirt at JCrew last night and cannot wait to wear it!
