Sinking In + {A Camel Cape}

Vintage Cape, Free People Top, gifted James Jeans, JCrew Boots and Necklace

I felt rather elegant on Saturday running to and from wedding appointments in this wool, fur collared cape. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I was sporting freshly painted cheetah-esque nail polish (a DIY paint job to come soon) so I wasn't to be taken too seriously (no matter how old I am I hope to always let my personality shine)! My mom and I stopped in to see the church I will be married in all decorated for an evening wedding. We walked away giddy, gabbing about all of the possible decorating options! Wedding planning is a lot like party planning and if you're not careful it's easy to get caught up in the world of flowers and stationary. Although the wedding part of my weekend was a lot of fun the real highlight was Saturday night dinner with my parents. After our conversations and reminiscing it has finally sunk in that I will be the one walking down that aisle in June, and although it's a little sad that this means I'm all grown up, I couldn't be more excited and ready for that next chapter in my life.
**Cheetah Pictures Update: I will be posting everyone's cheetah / leopard pictures on Friday! They've been so fun to receive!!

I love the nails...who cares what anyone else thinks! The cape is gorg...and your wedding planning sounds divine! I was married this past June...in an untraditional Short dress in Vegas! It is all about you and you being happy (i'm sure quite a few people snickered behind my back about my choice, but WTF I loved it!)

You have the most gorgeous J.Crew jewelry. It makes me want to invest in more of their pieces. Also, adorable nails...perfect for you!

Love the nails! I ended up using black liquid eye liner for the spots (tip I found in a DIY how to video!)

Alicia this might be my fave one yet!! (After the engagement one in the park with the loubs, that is). That cape is about as perfect as it gets - and the boots cap off the look to a T!

I can't imagine how much fun it must be to plan your wedding (nerves aside) - it would be difficult not to get caught up in having an all out fab party of your dreams!

xoxo,
Carrie

The cape is so cool and looks awesome on you. I love that you paired it with leopard nails, so cute. Aww, what a fun time you're going through right now. I remember feeling such a mix of emotions and it all feeling very surreal, even on the actual wedding day. You should definitely make the pumpkin chocolate chip brownies. They're SO buttery and delicious. I might have to make them again soon.

I felt the same way when I was planning my wedding. (Which was not to long ago! I've only been married for a year.) It's an incredibly joyous occasion, but it's also that final step in "growing up." Best of luck to you! And you look fabulous, as always! :)
