Holiday Mode {Part 1}

I ordered my first gingerbread latte today, I may or may not have listened to Christmas carols during my morning commute and I'm counting down the days for a chilly yet festive Thanksgiving spent in New York. It seems as though the day after Halloween our internal clocks automatically switch into holiday party mode (or at least mine does). And even though a "Haunted House" orange and black sign currently hangs on my apartment front door (note to self: time to take that down) my mind is preoccupied with upcoming cocktail parties, Thanksgiving meals to be cooked and New Years plans are in the works. Of course with all of these upcoming holiday parties comes the obvious question: what to wear?! Well, thanks to the sparkly JCrew 2011 spring collection debut (did you hear that ladies? sequins well into spring!!), I have concluded that I need to get my hands on a little more bling. Here's what is currently catching my eye...
1. Forever 21 Large Bow Necklace*

*I own this necklace and can attest that it was the best $8 I've spent in awhile ;)

I love everything with sequins.
I just got a gold JCrew sequin skirt and I cannot be happier. I love it because I think I could wear it for a party or for brunch with my girlfriends (which I think I might do this Sunday).

Ahh, yes! As soon as Halloween is over I switch into holiday mode. I actually wrote a little list in my notebook yesterday of holiday events I already know about and what I will wear to each (not complete, obvs! I have a couple of dresses that I haven't worn yet that I am saving for holiday time, but a couple holiday outfits will still need to be purchased!) LOVE your picks, nothing says holiday like sequins! So fun & pretty.

I switched to holiday mode a week ago, and everyone that has been over has made fun of me. I mean, an ornament center piece isn't that bad,it's not like I put up the tree!
