A Lazy Afternoon

My weekend was filled with plenty of "me time." It is often rare to find myself with a free afternoon, with no where to be or someone to see. I usually feel like I should take advantage of my weekends with the utmost productivity; laundry, grocery shopping, time with friends etc. And while I consider myself a pretty social person who rarely likes to be alone, I have realized more recently that I do need and enjoy those afternoons spent all by myself. Saturday I caught up on all of my September issues, made cards out of the latest JCrew catalog and re-watched episodes of The Rachel Zoe Project. Sometimes you just owe it to yourself to spend the majority of a day planted on the couch.

How do you spend your time alone?

When I'm free I slouch on the couch with a plate of oreos or a bowl of ice cream sitting on my tummy, watching HGTV, and reading. Ummmm even in the winter.

I know what you mean, I always feel the need to be on the go and have trouble just letting myself sit at home, doing the little things I enjoy.

I love alone time, but I'm still constantly working on some little project or making myself busy even when I don't need to be.

What a great idea about making cards out of the J Crew catalog! Those are adorable. This sounds like my ideal "alone time" afternoon. I also enjoy and value my alone time. I usually spend it reading magazines or books, taking walks, running errands, cooking, watching bad reality tv (my current favorite is Bachelor Pad), and giving myself manicures/facials. Ahh, I'm relaxed just thinking about it. I have a "me day" scheduled for this upcoming weekend.

I love spending an afternoon just self-indulging. Flipping through mags with the TV on and munching while curled up on the couch is a wonderous relaxing afternoon event!

What a great idea with the cards Alicia!! The pictures in the September J.Crew are particularly painful...as are the prices. Yikes. It kinda makes it all better using them as cards though :)

I have to say I love lazy afternoons where I curl up with all 4 seasons of Felicity and indulge. Best days ever.

Carrie

Hey A - if I can grab free time I'm all about watching a movie, cuddled with the pups, and a nice fluffy blanket -- but those times are rare - love the DIY idea! -- great for holiday cards for the fashionable girls :-)
