When I first moved into the city I was overly excited about grocery shopping. I'm talking about buying my bread and eggs at the corner store, simply because it made me feel like a true San Franciscan. Of course there is always the cheaper option of hiking down the hill to Safeway or Trader Joes, but it's just not the same. And even though the corner store doesn't always have those key ingredients you may need, it's all about improvising for the experience. If the grocer knows you by name this is even more telling that you are in fact a local.
* These photos do not do this Alice + Olivia sweater justice...it is covered in sequins!! *

I definitely do not look that cute when I run out to the store. Must make a mental note to do so :) And ps: that bag is insanely fabulous. I'm in love!
nob hill market! it's my favorite! so much cheaper than real foods. how have we not run into each other yet??
i love picturing scenarios like that! when i went to san francisco, a friend of ours came from a farmer's market with a straw bag full of fresh vegetables and whipped up the most glorious breakfast. i will never forget the look, and will always strive to emulate it.
Dig the bag. I totally get that feeling ... I love it that in the 8 blocks to the grocery store, there are at least 5 bodegas. It's ridiculous to pay $6 for a pint of ice cream there, but it makes me feel like I'm really in the city to have the option.

okay alicia. you need to wear this outfit everywhere. up the hill, down the hill, around the hill and back again.
perfection.
you tell that grocer you needs to pay YOU for getting to see you in that sequined sweater.
wear it again and show us more pics!!

Great location for these pics. Happy weekend!
is that mural outside the corner store?! cause it's beautiful and the perfect backdrop for photos. LOVE that sweater! and boots! my poor little boots have just been sitting lonely in my closet since we got to l.a. i'm hoping it'll get cold enough this winter to wear them. but i think they preferred san francisco. :) happy weekend!
These are the things I loved about living in San Francisco that we completely miss out on in LA. That sweater is amazing and I still can't get over that bag of yours. Have a great weekend!

We have a corner store too, it's a mediterranean market and it is absolutely adorable! Everything is so fresh, of course they dont have things like apple sauce or normal ice cream but it's half the fun...
Oh my goodness, I'm so happy I stumbled across your blog - I'm in love! And you are just the cutest girl with the best smile! (I'm a new follower now!)

I love the idea of shopping for groceries @ the corner store! this is such a european concept, I think that's why it appeals to me so much :)
